A Texas child growing up with an outsized expectation for success, Bob internalized every setback while shouldering responsibilities for his blind older brother. Remembering his lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut, he plotted a path to escape from personal disillusionment and the suffocating expectations of others. He began his journey to become an officer and pilot in the Air Force. Along the way, he excelled despite limited opportunities and severely shrinking military budgets. Ready for Takeoff by David Dale

AMAZON #1 BESTSELLER and #1 NEW RELEASE!

Ready For Takeoff – Stories from an Air Force Pilot recounts the extraordinary events of my ordinary Air Force career. From B-52 Cold War nuclear alert as a navigator, to wartime aerial refueling missions during Desert Storm and the Bosnian War, to flying General Tommy Franks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, my career intersected many moments in history. I began as a quiet navigator and rose to command an Air Force squadron tasked with flying our nation's commanding four-star generals and admirals. These stories represent the exploits of many proud Air Force servicemen and women ... Aviation has influenced my life in so many positive ways. I grew up shy and lacking self-confidence. It wasn’t until I started taking flying lessons at age 16 that I ventured out on my own to pursue my dream. Through aviation, I learned to make decisions, some of which could have life or death consequences. I scared myself a few times, but truly believe that I embody the slogan, “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” The life lessons I learned through aviation made me ready to takeoff into adulthood and a successful military career.

Always More to Learn by Jan Hochstetler

Always More to Learn is a book about Jan Hochstetler’s life as an educator and the unlikely path that led her to becoming the principal of a startup Christian elementary school serving mostly minority and low-income youth in Iowa City. It is a book about trusting God amid disappointments, which included teacher burnout. She uses her experiences to help readers understand the importance of connecting with others who have different backgrounds. Ultimately, Jan rediscovered the joy of being an educator when she became directly involved with the unique mission at Faith Academy. In the book, she described the challenges the school faced when the COVID-19 pandemic invaded their world in 2020. She also shares first-hand accounts of racial injustice encountered by students and staff. These were brought to the forefront of society following the George Floyd murder. The author is hopeful that the miraculous creation of Faith Academy can speak to our hearts and show there are many wonderful people in this world who are concerned enough about others’ children that they will sacrifice their time, money, and skills to help with such an endeavor.

What a Ride! by David Dimmick

Emily was purchased to become the offices of our small Silicon Valley ad agency. It didn’t take long to realize that operating a 100-ton boat was far more involved than we ever could have imagined. After buying Emily in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida the beautiful luxury yacht demonstrated she had a dark side to her. While in the middle of the Caribbean one of her two huge diesel engines decided to go on vacation and shut itself down. More than once she tried to sink out from under us. She decided steering wasn’t an important feature on a yacht, at night, in a storm. And the surprises just kept coming.

For those who have ever dreamt of owning a big boat, What a Ride! gives an insider’s view into the enormous fun and the unpleasant realities of yacht ownership. What a Ride! is written for both the experienced sailor who has longed to trade up to a bigger boat as well as those who have never set foot on a private yacht. The reader will come away with a better understanding of the joy and the heartache of owning and operating a 90-foot boat.

Leading to Win by Chris Pike

provides an incredibly effective and functional leadership philosophy rooted in a powerful concept: Assign the right people to the right tasks. Drawing from his distinguished military career, Pike takes readers on a journey of discovery (or rediscovery for some,) sharing pivotal moments that shaped his own leadership approach. Anchored in the principle of strategic task assignment, the book defines a comprehensive set of five guiding principles to foster effective leadership and winning results. Peppered with captivating historical anecdotes, including figures like Robert E. Lee and Dwight Eisenhower, each chapter showcases the application (or misapplication) of these principles. An innovative twist reveals the model's universal relevance through a case study of Jesus Christ's leadership in forming a global church. Leading to Win arms readers with the mindset to achieve mission success, a blueprint to guide their path, and the knowledge that history has already proven Colonel Pike's model works.

From Randy Johnson to Dallas Braden by Kevin Hurd (Two-Volume Set)

AMAZON #1 NEW RELEASE

From Randy Johnson to Dallas Braden: No-Hitters Beyond the Box Score was a four-year labor of love written by a devoted baseball fan with a keen understanding of the unique attraction of the game. His fascinating stories of individual games explore the gamut of no-hit accomplishments, from the perfect game thrown by aging Hall of Famer Randy Johnson to the beautiful moment on top of the baseball world experienced by young players who lasted only a short time in the big leagues. Through storytelling based on personal interviews and in-depth analysis, this two-volume book is about the pitchers and catchers who participated in what is often recalled as the most memorable game of their professional careers. While their stories are far more than statistics, this book is loaded with insightful analysis. Most important are the players’ stories behind the headlines, though. What led up to their crowning achievement? What was working for them that day, and what wasn’t? What do they remember most? And what have they been doing since their remarkable achievement? This book addresses these questions and describes so many more aspects of these magical games.

Seven Days in Golf Paradise by Jim Hartley

In September 2023, three of my best friends and I took a seven-day, bucket-list trip to southwest Ireland to play six of the best golf courses in the country and, by many accounts, in the world. This book is about that trip: the courses, the golf, the pubs, the restaurants, the three towns we stayed in, the colorful characters we encountered, and my reflections on the lasting effect these magical seven days had on all of us. This book gives an inside look at playing links golf in Ireland, known for its mammoth sandy dunes, wiry fescue grass, and ever-present winds blowing in off the Atlantic Ocean. I describe the incomparable experience of playing Old Head with its 300-foot-high sheer cliffs that come into play on over half of the holes as they fall straight down to the ocean. Then I take you to the Old Course at Ballybunion, generally considered to be the home of Irish links golf and the standard by which all other links courses are measured. My hope is that you gain a sense of how special and unique all six of these courses are and become inspired to make your own bucket-list trip, whether it’s to southwest Ireland or another “golf paradise” of your choosing.

The Power Within by Manjul Mishra

My life was shattered early one morning in 2021 when I discovered my husband of 26 years was having an affair with a friend of mine. While it was the final straw in a series of emotional betrayals that had gone on for years, it was still devastating. I decided I was not going to live like this anymore. It was at that moment I decided to leap into the unknown and file for divorce. It was then I chose to take control of my life and regain my power. The Power Within: A Journey of Courage, Healing, and Empowerment is about my journey toward embracing my power and living life on my own terms. This journey had taken me many years, from my childhood in India, through a male-centered education system, to life as a non-English-speaking immigrant in the United States. Along the way, I successfully raised two wonderful boys while facing debilitating health issues. I also realized later in life that my true calling was not in being an electrical engineer, but rather in becoming an ayurvedic medicine practitioner and yoga instructor ...

Star Journey Home by Greg Martins

Star Journey Home invites readers to explore the provocative idea that many of us, while born on Earth, may have spiritual origins rooted elsewhere in the cosmos. Our bodies are of this world, but our souls may be calling us home to another world among the stars. Star Journey Home is written by a NASA engineer whose deeply developed metaphysical and spiritual insight offers a rare fusion of science and soul. Through the lens of his own extraordinary journey, Greg shares an engaging, heartfelt narrative of intuitive awakening, profound encounters with star beings, and transformative experiences using the Akashic Records — a timeless, non-physical archive said to contain the history of every soul, event, and place that has ever existed. Greg weaves together personal revelations and metaphysical truths to present a compelling case that we are far more expansive and interconnected than conventional life on Earth suggests. With clarity and sincerity, he offers evidence that we are intricately linked to one another and to conscious life across the Universe in deeply personal and meaningful ways ...

On the Edge by Adria Sanders

On the Edge is Adria Sanders’ most profound and transformative work—a spiritual memoir chronicling her lifelong journey between the seen and unseen worlds. From childhood visions to encounters with non-terrestrial beings, Adria’s story is one of deep inner conflict and awakening. Initially overwhelmed by her metaphysical experiences, she struggled to reconcile them with everyday life, often questioning her sanity and purpose. Through out-of-body travels where she perceived herself as a ball of energy, telepathic connections with non-terrestrial entities, and glimpses into parallel universes marked by objects mysteriously disappearing and reappearing within minutes, Adria gradually embraced her spiritual gifts. Her path was not easy, it was marked by fear, isolation, and the challenge of accepting truths that defied conventional reality. Yet, in choosing to walk the edge between worlds, she found clarity, courage, and connection. This memoir is more than a recounting of extraordinary events; it is a guide for those navigating their own awakening and the vulnerability that often accompanies it. With vivid storytelling and heartfelt insight, Adria invites readers to explore the mysteries of existence and discover the power within themselves to transform confusion into wisdom.

Cardboard Heroes by Rob Adams

This book is an homage to a golden era of baseball card collecting when they were acquired one card or one wax pack at a time, handled, mangled, and worn out. As a young baseball fan, there was nothing more exciting than opening a new pack of baseball cards and slowly revealing who was included. Would there be a major star, a favorite Giants player, or somebody I had never even heard of? As they say in baseball, “hope springs eternal.” The next pack could be THE pack!

This book is a compilation of these players’ stories as told through my accounts surrounding 360 personally curated cards from my childhood collection. The cards range from the late 1950s to the late 1970s and include examples from every team in that era. I selected these cards for a variety of reasons: the player, the picture on the card, the uniform, a collecting memory, or a personal connection to the player. You will see and read about Hall-of-Famers, virtual unknowns, great trades, bad trades, nicknames, and more.

In his thrilling and thoughtful book, Colonel Bruce Hurd vividly describes the adventure, excitement, and triumph he felt during his 30-year career as an Air Force officer and pilot. Through his powerful narrative, often told with a dry wit, readers gain a real appreciation for the rich and full life of a career military officer.

But this compelling novel isn’t just for the military-minded. Additionally, Colonel Hurd talks movingly about confronting the disappointment, fear, and shame arising from very painful and difficult personal ordeals he faced. After great success in numerous leadership positions as an Air Force officer and in his post-military career as a software development program manager, he also speaks to the importance of being able to reinvent ourselves throughout our lives.

Colonel Hurd concludes his book by introducing the reader to his eight “Aim Point” principles that have been his touchstones throughout his life. He has used them each time he has been confronted with the need for personal reinvention. His inspiring book is a must-read for Air Force enthusiasts, anyone confronting deeply personal challenges, and those facing the need for reinvention in their lives.

"Whether you love reading true stories of pilots facing terror or personal transformation and the triumph of family values, Bruce Hurd's heroically personal narrative will keep you riveted to the final landing. For anyone facing challenges that seem impossible, this is your next book." — MK Mueller, author of "8 to Great" and "Taking Care of Me: The Habits of Happiness"

“‘Aim Point’ is an extremely well written, integrated, real-life story. Colonel Hurd writes honest, insightful, loving words about duty, faith, and responsibility to both core and corps values. Colonel Hurd goes to the place of truth inside himself to obtain morally correct answers in difficult circumstances. Good guys do finish first.” —David Denton Davis, MD, author of “Who Can Parents Trust?” and “Polly’s Promise”

"'Aim Point' takes the reader on a thrilling ride through stories of emotional trauma and military valor, and arrives at a set of hard-earned lessons for life. This is a brave and wonderfully insightful book." — Michael Doyle, author of "The Ministers' War" and "The Forestport Breaks"

"It is inspiring! It is uplifting! It is POWERFUL! I have been inspired to look at traumatic events in my life (especially early life) in a new helpful light again.” — John Way Wang, CEO, JWW Mindfulness

"The book is so excellent, I keep crying … I love hearing it. I just adore it. I don’t want it to end.” — Lilly Fluger, CEO, Lillyarts (audiobook listener)
